What Our Travelers Are Saying
We offer both. Private trips are designed exclusively for your group. You choose the destination, travel dates, pace, and focus of the trip. The itinerary is customized to your group’s interests, goals, and budget, and your group travels together without outside participants. This option offers more flexibility, personalization, and control. Best for: schools, churches, performance groups, organizations, and large families traveling together.
Public trips are pre-planned trips that are open to individual travelers or small groups. Travelers join others who have registered for the same itinerary and dates. The schedule, inclusions, and pricing are set in advance, offering a convenient and affordable way to travel. Best for: individuals, couples, or small groups who want to join a ready-made trip.
When a group contacts America Tours and Travel to inquire about organizing a group trip, we first collect information regarding the trip: dates, destination, mode of transportation, expected number of passengers, etc.
We customize the trip quote based on the group’s wants and needs. You can personalize your trip to include practically anything you want. If you haven’t traveled before, we can offer suggestions for you.
America Tours and Travel uses a secure online portal system. When a traveler registers for a trip, they create a personal account that can be accessed at any time using their login credentials. Payments can be made by credit card or directly from a bank account. Fundraiser checks from schools are also accepted.
Yes! Your deposit counts toward the total cost of the trip, reducing the remaining balance you’ll need to pay.
Inclusions may vary from trip to trip. We handle every detail from start to finish, including reservations for ground and/or air transportation, hotels, meals, attractions, and events. Your registration page will denote anything that is not included in the cost of the trip.
Yes! Travel protection insurance is available for all trips. It helps cover unexpected events such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, or other unforeseen situations. You can purchase it during registration or through your trip portal. We recommend reviewing the coverage options to choose the plan that best fits your needs.
Refunds may be limited depending on the timing of your cancellation and any non-refundable costs already incurred for your trip. We recommend reviewing the cancellation policy for full details.
Depending on the group leader’s preference, you will travel to your destination by airplane or motorcoach. Once there, a motorcoach may be used to reach various sites as needed, while in some cities you will explore on foot or use public transportation to visit many of the attractions.
We provide safe, quality accommodations for all trips. Our domestic hotels are nationally recognized chain hotels, including Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Best Western, etc. For international travel, we generally use centrally located 3- and 4-star hotels that have excellent access to sites and transportation.
Participants start the day with breakfast at the hotel, with offerings that may vary by location. Lunches and dinners are provided while touring, either as sit-down meals or as funds loaded onto your trip debit card. On some trips, meals may not be included and would be at the traveler’s expense, but this is clearly noted during registration.
When you create an account on our portal system, you will have an opportunity to state any dietary restrictions. We will collect the dietary restrictions before the trip and report all restrictions and allergies to designated restaurants. We will also ask who specifically has any dietary restrictions on the trip so that we can better direct the servers at sit-down meals.
For private trips, your group’s official leader is usually the organizer, supported by others as needed. Public trips do not have a designated group leader, but either way, a Tour Manager
from America Tours and Travel will be with you every step of the way—at the airport, on the bus, and at your hotel—helping you enjoy every moment and guiding you through the amazing destinations included in your adventure.
The school leader decides if parents or guests are allowed to go on the trip. Please contact the teacher leading your trip for specific details and/or questions.
How much money you’ll need is a personal choice—if you plan to buy souvenirs, you’ll want extra funds. Travelers flying to their destination should also budget for luggage fees, as these are not included in our trips. If certain meals are not included, as noted on the registration page, you’ll want additional money for food. Please keep in mind that these recommendations may vary for international travel.
